Her story 👇

Born from her own shadow work as a mortal, she brought with her a hue, mended together with all the seperated fragments of her earthly self. This hue is imbued with the wairua of IO and with it she pours that mauri into Aotearoa and its people, healing back together all that has been seperated, divided and broken.

Thoughts on the third one??

🩸I cant remember the last time I got my period on Whiro but it was TOUGH 😂

These were all charcoal + oil around 15mins each. Just a flowstate release.

The third pikitia. OK. Man.

When I finished and stepped back I was immediately frightened. She looked scary, she made me nervous and I was so confused about why I painted her.

It felt like she was watching me and I very much wanted to close the sketchbook HEOI ANO something kept stopping me.

So insted I sat with her and let my mind go blank.

She watched me.
I watched her.

Slowly I came to the realization that she wasnt scary.

SHE was scared.
SHE was nervous.

She was inside looking out. Hiding behind her hair. Wary and afraid to step into the light.

Still figuring out the full kōrero on what feels like a BIG message but man. Thats one ikura Whiro portal right there.

In amongst all these cool things was tough TOUGH happenings.

So many endings.
So many walking aways.

Engari for each thing that felt hard, the reason why was soon revealed and it was always GOOD.

Like when you clear an overgrown path and now you can finally see that you kept walking off the track this whole time. So no wonder you never found your way.

Apparently 2026 is going to be EPIC so lesh gooooo.

Im actually so glad to see the back of 2025 nē.

In amongst all these cool things was tough TOUGH happenings.
