I love that up close they could almost be sad but from a distance they look happy. As though they look down on us with love but have an inner sadness in whanaunga with us and all we have been through the past year.

The concept of wāhine being birthed from Papatūānuku, made of parts of the gods has always resonated with me. In my mind it perfectly explains how where our power and wairua comes from and the force that tautokos us in everything we do.

Like of course we are made from parts of the gods. It explains everything 💅 😂

As a new iteration of Hineahuone starts to form in my mind the last 20 prints of this version wait patiently for their new homes 🖤

It doesnt matter if it's art school, online tutorials or real time trial and error - you are always learning.

I used to cringe at my old art heoi ano now I'm so happy I kept them. I remember how proud I was of all these drawings and I still am na te mea it was the start of journey that has done so much to shape my life 🫶
